Golf the Game and The Online Game
The object of the game of golf is to hit the ball with one of your clubs, from the Tee Area, down the Fairway, avoiding the hazards, onto the Green, and into the Cup or Hole.In other words:

Scoring, in golf games, is by counting the number of Hits or Strokes it takes each player to get the ball into the Cup. The player needing the fewest strokes being the winner.

First step: Tee Off
First take a look around. Beautiful course isn't it? Notice the wind, hear the birds, smell the fresh air.Note the distance to the cup, on the the sign to your player's left.
The overhead view, at the upper right, shows you which way to go. The Green can be straight ahead or you may need to round a curve to the right or left, known as a Dog Leg.
In novice mode an appropriate club is chosen for you. With good technique you can hit the ball to the Directional Pole (the red and white pole in the distance).
One of the differences between golf clubs is the distance that each can hit the ball. So in golf games,
players choose which club to use
for each shot, partly on the basis of how far they need the ball to go.
Ground Condition,
or Terrain, is another variable to consider when choosing the golf club to use. Except for when you Tee Off.
When you are Teeing Off, you are hitting your golf ball that is nicely perched, one quarter to one half inch up off the ground, on a Tee.
This is the best Lie, or ball location, you can have. It is the best, whether out on the course or playing your golf game online.
Only on the Tee do you get such a clean, direct shot at the ball, perfectly located for the sweet spot of your club's face.
In the online game, the Directional Pole is what your player is aiming the ball at. It shows you the distance between itself and the ball.
Moving the Directional Pole closer, farther, to the right, or to the left adjusts the aim of your shot. It also shows the slope of the ground under it, in all 4 directions.
The strength or power of the player's Swing, obviously effects how far the ball goes, too. In GoldenFairwayFX golf games there are

The Full Swing is used for shots with the woods and the irons.
How to Hit/Shoot the ball
When you hit your golf ball, it will go straight to the Directional Pole, if....you have no wind, and if....you do a perfect swing. Of course, that is a little difficult when you are starting out, especially.
In real world golf, you usually stick with the clubs that are giving you the best accuracy. Making adjustments, like aiming way left because of your wicked Slice, is not considered good technique.
With this golf game online, however, there are in-game adjustments you should make to get your best results.
Your big challenge, assuming good contact between the club head and the ball, is this tendency of the ball to curve to the right or left.
If you are hitting the ball right-handed, and it goes off course to the right, it's called a
Slice
. A hook curves to your left. A nice feature of free games online
is the Hook and Slice adjustment that players can make.
Another element, to compensate for, is the wind. Wind speed and direction add to the challenge of all the better online golf games.
If the wind is strong, keeping the ball's flight or trajectory low, helps minimize the wind's effect. In actual golf, this is done by choosing a club with a lower Loft or by lining up your shot with the ball a little farther back from your forward foot, than usual.
